HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
Crews spent hours Saturday trying to put out an unusually-shaped brush fire on Blue Mountain in Lower Paxton Township.
According to emergency dispatchers, the fire started at around 4:30 p.m. on the mountain near Forest Hills and Colonial Road.
Crews were having a hard time reaching the flames due to the location.
The fire was safely under control at around 8:30, but firefighters remained on scene for some time after.
It is unclear what caused the fire to take on a "U" shape.

Fire on the mountain, run boys run

I'm somewhat suspicious of the shape of this fire.

There's probably a perfectly logical explanation, such as a 'U' shaped alien spaceship.

Good Lord you city people  the shape in not out of what to expect , a fire burns from the center out with no draft,on a flat surface it would be a circle. In any wind that circle will be deformed by the air draft and some what by the terrein which has alot to do with the direction of the air flows ,that and the time of day . In the evenings the thermals will come down the mountain in the morn up. as a rule . Thus the fire was U shaped down the mountain . No Aliens involved.

OK, I was thinking that the inside of the U wasn't burned since they seem to be so baffled about it. Hard to tell from the pic. But you may be right. If you're wrong, I'm going with the alien theory.
