Thompson also said she is working different avenues to obtain funds to help purchase equipment needed to detect voids within the city that could potentially cause sinkholes. Thompson added failing infrastructure is an issue that would cost billions to fix.

Last Friday, newly sworn in Dauphin County state Representative Patty Kim and new state Senator Rob Teplitz surveyed the sinkhole and vowed to fight for state funds. Kim, a former Harrisburg City council member, became frustrated when she witnessed the damage firsthand.

~~ Yeah how about that they have 40 + sinkholes in the city and fixing this one will have used up the budget for the yr. Better buy stock in the porta potty business. Meanwhile your safe the garbage mans testing the roads for ya . Yeah great, he's hanging on the back of a truck hoping it won't fall into a hole on top of him, Hey, LT you ride the truck, I think i read some where some of the city lines are still wooden.

I suggest they don't spend any money on the sinkholes or the pipes. Just let the sinkholes swallow the whole city.

It was much more important to make 7th street into a bulovard than to work on some of the cities infrastructure.but water and sewer services are not that important to the Maya.Iguess all them empty sheds on 7th street need a 4 lane road out front.
