A Republican leader in the Pennsylvania Legislature is renewing his effort to change how the state allocates its Electoral College votes for U.S. president.

Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi of Delaware County last week introduced a bill that would apportion 18 of the 20 votes based on how candidates perform in the statewide popular vote. The other two votes would go to the overall winner.

The approach is different than a proposal made in the last legislative session, when Pileggi sponsored a proposal that would divide the votes according to who won the 18 congressional districts.

Democratic President Barack Obama won all of the state's 20 electoral votes last year. He defeated Republican Mitt Romney in the state by about 310,000 voters, out of more than 5.7 million cast.

This is a definitely a sign of "No Confidence" Its nobody's fault but the GOP's. There inability to promote a candidate that could win is/was lacking. Mitch should be a huge lesson learned (I doubt it) Dominic Pileggi is a sore loser and is now trying to change the rules

George Washington could come back to life and run as a Republican, and the mainstream media would convince the weak-minded (who constitute a majority of our population) that he is not a good candidate. This is now a stupid country, it deserves stupid leaders, and it deserves to fall.

No, the biggest realist you ever saw. I'm not sore about it because I have no reason to care about it anymore.

The states should give the Electoral Votes from each District to the candidate of choice, not all the votes to a candidate because of the Majority of the people from that state Voted a certain way.

I agree that each states electoral votes should be awarded in proportion to the votes cast for each candidate.
