Your hype about Farm-Show milkshakes is ridiculous. They are
made from a mix, like a Wendy's Frosty, and not as good as
ones made at Sam's on Paxton back in the day. Do the area
a favor an report how these shakes are made...investigative
reporting. The other food is just so-so, as well.

How much longer do we have to hear about the milkshakes before they start talking about
the butter sculpture?

I go for the tortilla encrusted tilapia sandwich....AWESOME! And I know of no other place to get it than the farm show.

I take it that's a farmed fish.

Yep, I think they are farmed since they became so popular, very mild flavor, even milder than Flounder and Orange Roughy IMO.
I most likely won't make it to the Farm Show this year, the last few years I only went for the food because everything else is pretty much the same thing year after year, but the doctors tell me to keep away from most of that stuff. So to prevent temptation I"ll stay at home this year.
Not crazy about the crowds anyway.

It might be, don't know. A group of us at work go down at lunch, each getting a certain food for whoever wants it, while one of us is in the car waiting.

"Now you stay here in the car, Mabel. We'll get you a farmed-fish sandwich and a Farm Show milkshake made from their special mix."

My better half was there with her granddaughter last night and and she bought a shake and watched them make it, they used real ice cream and milk, so I don't know where this special mix stuff is coming from. Maybe there's more than one place selling them.
When I was coming up milkshakes where always made from ice cream and whole milk with flavorings if you wanted it, that's the only way you could get them, there where no such thing as chemical mixes. So it's kinda funny that Farm show people think that now they are something special.
My favorite was a 'black and white', white milk and chocolate ice cream.

It's not hard to put vanilla ice cream, whole milk, and chocolate syrup in a blender, and I've never bought a milkshake that tasted better.

Another old favorite that has fallen to the way-side is the good ole' 'Ice Cream Sodas" or 'Floats'.
A 'Root Beer Float' was one of the best.

I think you'll find that they "think" the shakes are special because they ARE made of real ingredients and not the chems, as Vic alluded to. Pretty much, if you get a shake at Mickey D's or most other places these days, they ARE more chemical than real.

Seif, we are remembering reality that others can only imagine (and probably believe to be fantasy). You & I can remember eating hot dogs and Hershey bars that were REAL hot dogs and Hershey bars and not the conglomeration that is had today

I miss being able to walk into a drug store to get an ice cream soda. I make Black Cows at home.

Loaded with fat and. calories, just adds to the growing obesity problem.

I've lived in the Harrisburg area for almost 19 yrs never been to the farm zoo, oops show.

I'm surprised there were any fights or issues at the farm zoo.
