DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano told a House Committee on Homeland Security that the federal agency was “looking at drones that could be utilized to give us situational awareness in a large public safety [matter] or disaster,” despite the fact that the agency had previously indicated it was reticent to use spy drones to keep tabs on the public.

Sounds like it is time to start a new "Rocket Club" boys and girls.

Wonder how long ago that was. This isn't Tom Ridge's DHS.

HR 658 - Federal Aviation Administration Act of 2012

-Requires the FAA to develop a comprehensive plan for integration of civil unmanned aircraft systems into national airspace within 270 days of the enactment date of this bill, and requires the FAA to execute the plan by September 30, 2015 (Sec. 332).

I don't know where we "draw the line" as to unreasonable searches as defined in the 4th amendment. (The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.).

We assume innocence until proven guilty, and given the ease of 20/20 hindsight, we would have wanted the authorities to get the guys behind the 9-11 attacks before they could have done these deeds. With the advent of greater scientific equipment, their deeds might or might not have been discovered before they became reality.

The entire gist of this is trying to stop a catastrophe before it begins. I have no "cut and dried" answer.

This spells trouble boys and girls. If we allow drones in our airspace, it is nearly done. As a matter of fact, it may be too late already. The America envisioned by our Founding Fathers is no more.

Drones shot down ~~~ Police are investigating an incident at a Berks County hunting club in which someone on the hunting grounds allegedly targeted a mechanical flying object rather than a living and breathing one.
SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) are in the midst of a campaign against the Wing Pointe commercial hunting grounds in Hamburg, Berks County and its live pigeon shoots in which the birds are shot down. SHARK began to use an “Octocopter,” a remote controlled flying machine with a high tech video camera, to secretly record the pigeon shoots as they happen.

We not only own a plot of land, we also own the airspace above(to an extent). Any protrusion of that airspace is trespassing.
